R -- ENGINEERING TECHNICAL & PROGRAM SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE JOINT INTEROPERABILITY AND ENGINEERING ORGANIZATION (JIEO) SOL DAAB07- POC Mrs. Carol Phelan, (908) 532-7766. This is a Sole Source procurement. The purpose of this synopsis is to announce that the Government intends to extend Contract No. DAAB07-91-D-B519 with Logicon, Eagle Technology, Inc. due to the fact that there have been serious unforseen delays with the recompete acquisition for Engineering, Technical and Program Support Services for the Joint Interoperability and Engineering Organization. The extension will be for approximately 3 months, with an option for 3 additional months. The authority for the extension is 10 USC 2304(c)(2), FAR 6.302-2(b)(1). It is believed that only the incumbent has the knowledge and experience, and in-place on-site infrastructure (personnel, facilities, automation) to meet the Government's requirements without disruption of time, cost and effciency due to start-up for the time period specified. The incumbent currently supports over 200 technical engineering/integration tasks on over 30 separate delivery orders with approximately 350 engineers, analysts, and support personnel located at thirteen sites. The incumbent has detailed understanding of D6/JIEO processes across the spectrum of its mission and functions. No. RFP document exists since this is a notice of intent to extend the current contract and, therefore, not a request for proposal. Anyone interested in responding to this requirement must provide written responses to be received by this office within 15 calendar days after publication of this notice. It should be noted that no contract will be awarded on the basis of responses received to this notice, but will be used to determine if a comparable source more advantageous to the Government is available. If no affirmative written responses are received an extension will be placed against the above referenced contract without further notice. (0053)
