The US Navy intends to negotiate a contract for the design, development, manufacture and delivery of TPSs and associated data, for the AN/ALE-50 to be used on the F/A-18E/F aircraft. The TPSs will be utilized with the CASS tester and will fault detect, isolate and validate repair actions on the AN/ALE-50 WRA. This requiremnent is for supplies for which the US Navy does not own specifications, drawings and related data, to permit full and open competition. The US Navy intends to procure these CASS TPSs from Raytheon Company, Electromagnetic Systems Division, 6380 Hollister Ave, Goletta, Ca 93117, under authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1 with an approved Justification and Approval (J&A) to follow this announcement. Items to be covered by this procurement include: one (1) First Article Test (FAT) unit and twenty (20) production units; development tests and related data; technical, administrative and financial data; Integrated Logistics Support and data; Technical Manuals; interim spare parts; on-site verification; engineering technical services and related data; spare and repair parts and related data; repair of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE); and System Problem Reports (SPRs) and related data. Issuance of the solicitation is projected by 1 April 1996 or sooner, with a closing date approximately 45 days thereafter. The US Navy is anticipating a Firm Fixed Price type contract.
