66 -- MOBILE LAP-3000 5-BEAM RADAR PROFILER WITH RASS SOL W43HZD-5039-9500 POC Contract Administrator Helga Mendoza (505) 678-5413 Contracting Officer Maxine Agee (505) 678-1655 (Site Code DAAD07) It is the intent of the U.S. Army, White Sands Missile Range to purchase additional equipment quantities, (to include options and spare part kits) under current sole source contract DAADO7-95-C-0148 with Radian Corporation, P.O. Box 201088, Austin, Texas. It is for a Mobile LAP-3000 5-beam Radar Profiler with RASS that must be integrated into a mobile platform (trailer) for straightforward transport, deployment, and operation at a variety of field locations at Vandenberg Air Force Base. The system shall include the capability to measure vertical profiles of horizontal wind speed and direction, and vertical wind velocity. In addition, the system shall include the capability to measure vertical profiles of virtual air temperature. The system must operate unattended and provide continous real-time atmospheric wind and temperature data with high spatial resolution. The system must be capable of measuring winds from 150m up to 2km above ground level with a minimum 60m vertical resolution under ideal conditions. Air temperature accuracy must be less than 1 degree C. The system must operate at 915 or 924 Mhz (frequency to be determined at a later date). The equipment must be compatible with existing computer codes, including the data acquisition program Profiler On-line Program. The equipment must be capable of acquiring wind speed and wind direction measurements without significant data loss due to noice encountered by weapon systems during daily Test and Evaluation missions support at Vandenburg.
