necessary to perform routine Drydock Vessel Maintenance including, but
not limited to, the following Minimum Items: 1)
Renew/Remove/Inspect/Reinstall Propeller Shaft, 2) Fabricate/Install
Propeller Nut Seal Retainer, 3) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings,
4) Remove/Reinstall Propeller, 5) Clean/Test Grid Coolers, 6) Preserve
Transducer Hull Rings & Renew Depth indicating Transducers, 7)
Overhaul/Renew/Test Valves, 8) Overhaul Steering Gear System, 9)
Remove/Inspect/Reinstall Rudder, 10) Renew Rudder Bearing, 11)
Clean/Inspect Diesel Tanks, 12) Preserve U/W Body, 13) Clean/Inspect
Sewage & Grey Water Collection/Holding Tanks, 14) Provide Temporary
Messing/Berthing 15) Provide Temporary Logistics, 16) Routine
Drydocking, 17) Renew Bimetallic Transition Joint, 18) Preserve Bilges,
19) Renew Deck Covering/Potable Water Sounding Piping/Fan Space Main
Deck Plating & Ducting. Indefinite Items include, but not limited to:
1) Welding Repairs, 2) Align Main Propulsion Engine, 3) Renew Shaft
Covering/Sleeves, 4) Minor Repair/Recondition Propeller, 5) Sandblast
Diesel Fuel Tanks, 6) Prerserve Potable Water Tanks, 7) Ultrasonic
Testing, etc. Place of Performance is geographically restricted to:
Eastport, ME to Manomet Pt, MA. Vessel's Homeport is South Portland,
ME. Vessel's availability schedule is 28 days starting 10 June 1996.
There will be a nonrefundable charge of $100.00 required in the form of
a certified check or money order payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for
required drawings. All other referenced documents are available for
viewing at Building 400N, Governors Island, NY. Funds are not presently
available for this procurement. The government's obligation under this
solicitation is contingent upon availability of appropriated funds
from which payment for contractual purposes can be made. The proposed
contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. Plans and specifications will be issued on or
after 01 Mar 96. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall
be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
