The Office of Personnel Management intends to issue a delivery order with intent to place an order against the existing Basic Ordering Agreement with LEXIS-NEXIS to renew a subscription for the continued use and access of their database system by the Office of the Associate Director, 600 E Street, NW, Washington, DC. This subscription is for online access to LEXIS/NEXIS and related ADP service that provides full-text search retrieval services. Lexis is a computer assisted legal research service which contains the full text of Federal, State, and District of Columbia cases, MSPB hearings, FLRA rulings, and other such compilations. Performance shall be from 10-01-95 to 09-30-96. Nexis is an on-line full text news search and retrieval service. The Nexis database includes the full text of numerous national and international newspapers, wire services, magazines, newsletters and government publications. The LEXIS/NEXIS service is a product of MEAD DATA CENTRAL, a company which also offers other data search and retrieval services such as INFOBANK, which contains abstracts or digest on news items from scores of publications, and GOVDOC, a daily compilation of government publications (e.g. Federal Register). This system has been assisting the OPM/OFI since 1984 and provides an all inclusive service which is vital to the operation of the Office of Federal Investigations. No solicitation is available.
