The first USIS R&D Strategic Thrust document, produced under the auspices of the Central Imagery Office (CIO), Imagery Research and Development Council, provides information and guidance to R&D developers in 18 functional technologies organized in 3 strategic thrusts: 1) Exploitation and Analysis, 2) Information and Data Handling and 3) Implementation Tools and Methodologies. It identifies needs for imagery technology capabilities that will support the evolution of the USIS.
