Z -- SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION OF BASE ENGINEERING REQUIREMENTS (SABER); INCLUDES A BROAD RANGE OF MAINTENANCE, REPAIR AND MINOR CONSTRUCTION. The new solicitation number for the Shaw AFB SABER is F38601-96-R0002. The subject acquisition is for a broad range of maintenance, repair, and minor construction work on real property at Shaw AFB, SC and its associated siter. The work is required in support of 20th CES, Base Civil Engineer (BCE) activities. The contract will be an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract and will include a wide variety of individual construction tasks as identified in the Pulsar Means data base. During the contract period, the BCE will identify construction tasks as identified in the Pulsar Means Data Base. During the contract period, the BCE will identify construction tasks required to complete each specific job, and Contracting will negotiate and issue individual delivery orders to the contractor to complete those jobs. The contractor will be required to furnish all materials, equipment, and personnel necessary to manage and accomplish the projects. The contractor will be required to maintain a management office on Shaw AFB in order to receive delivery orders and provide other management services related to accomplishing individual jobs. Individual jobs will vary in size and complexity. The jobs will include tasks in a variety of trades, including: Carpentry, road repair, roofing, excavating, interior electrical, steam fitting, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, demolition, concrete masonry, and welding. The proposed contracts will utilize individual delivery orders ranging in value from $2,000 to $200,000 for each project. The guaranteed contract minimum is $200,000 and the proposed maximum is $25,000,000. The performance period will be a 12-month basic year, with four 12-month option years to be executed at the Government's option. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code Major Groups 15, 16, and 17 apply. The proposed contract is unrestricted. All requests must be in writing on company letterhead and include a point of contact, with complete address and telephone number. Due to the complexity of the solicitation, a $50 fee, payable to the ''U.S. TREASURY DEPARTMENT'' shall be furnished with each request. The acquisition will be conducted using Technically Acceptable Low Offer procedures.
