16 -- AN/AAQ-22LR THERMAL IMAGING SYSTEM FOR P-3 AIRCRAFT POC Contact, ANN PHAN, Phone (703)604-2000 Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to FLIR Systems, Incorporated (FSI) for the procurement of six (6) AN/AAQ-22LR SAFIRE Thermal Imaging Systems for the P-3 Antisurface Warfare (ASUW) Improvement Program (AIP). Naval Air Systems Command has a requirement for a thermal imaging system approved for installation and flight, in conjunction with the AN/APS-137 radar system, on P-3 aircraft. FLIR Systems Incorporated is the sole manufacturer of the AN/AAQ-22LR and its associated P-3 installation kit. It is the only company which has access to necessary engineering drawings and technical data. The Government does not have all the data necessary to permit competitive procurement of this requirement.
