The Air Force Flight Test Center intends to issue a contract to repair and upgrade approximately 34,000 square feet of computer room flooring in Bldg. 1440. The repair consists of replacing carpeted tiles under room borders, releveling and realigning entire floor including hallways, and repairing the bracings system on subfloor systems. the repair will require the replacement of 36 pedestal bases, tightening stringers and pedestal mounts, bolting pedestals in place and furnishing and installing new 4-way laterals bracings 8 ft on center diagonally between existing braces, resulting in engineering certification of compliance with Zone 4 seismic standards. The existing floor is 15 years old, pressure laminate floor panels 24'' by 24'', bracings have been removed due to retrofit of new equipment, wiring and forced air ducting changes. Carpeted tiles are located under non-load bearing walls that are welded to ceiling struts and screwed to the carpeted floor tiles with cove base attached. Mission requirements do not allow removal of major equipment or work stoppage. Large equipment is separately supported on pedestal mounts level with floor surface. Subfloor are is forced air plenum. Performance period will be 60 calendar days. This acquisition will be conducted under full and open competition. Sic Code 1799.
