Officer, Nettie Gorder, 907/786-3439. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife
Service will procure (16) Implantable Sattellite Transmitters for Adult
Common Murres from Telemetry 2000, Inc. 10280 Columbia Road, Suite 260,
Columbia, MD 21046. Transmitters must meet the following
specifications: Weigh - less than or equal to 35 g including container,
battery, transmitter, and antenna; Size - encapsulated unit excluding
antenna less than or equal to 10mm deep, less than or equal to 55mm
long, and less than or equal to 35mm wide; Life - not later than 16
weeks when programmed for 6 hours on 60 off, not later than 12 weeks
when programmed for 6 hours on 12 off, batteries must function at 40
degrees C; Antenna - teflon-coated cable, outside diameter with
shielding 2.55mm, outside diameter of center conductor with teflon
layer 1.5mm, diameter of multi-strand twisted conducted wire 0.5 mm,
all shielding must be removed except 8 cm at the base; Container -
package must be waterproof with no sharp edges and must be able to
withstand pressure up to 10 atmospheres; Output - each transmitter will
need an on/off switch, sensor data, temperature data, battery voltage,
and counter; and Pulse Rates - 60+/-5 seconds. See Numbered Note 22.
