The Air Force Development Test Center (AFDTC), under simplified acquisition procedures intends to solicit to one source, Amber Engineering, 5756 Thornwood Dr., Goleta CA 93117-3802, for one high speed infrared camera system. Amber Engineering is the only known contractor who manufactures a high speed infrared camera system used to determine the thermal characteristic temperatures of objects as low as 400 degrees Kelvin and no higher than 800 degrees Kelvin. This camera will be used to analyze a surfaces thermal gradient as it encounters deformations. The salient features of the camera are: Integration time of as low as 1 micro-second in the snapshot mode, integration of entire focal plane takes place at the same time (i.e. complete focal plane integration after 1 micro-second), adjustable integration time, integration time is independent of readout logic, the pixel size will be at least 26um by 25um and no greater than 40um by 40um with greater than 70 percent quantum efficiency fill factor product, operational wavelength of 2 microns to 5 microns, correlated non-uniformities of less then 0.1 percent, four channel acquisition providing three additional channels for future expansion, and minimum array size of 256 by 128 pixels. Required delivery is 90 days after receipt of order. All responsible sources may submit an offer which will be considered.
