Scott Palmer, Ph: 202/267-2489 The U.S. Coast Guard is developing a solicitation for the acquisition of Service Dress Blue Coats for men and women. This coat is part of the Service Dress Blue uniform for officers and enlisted personnel. The Coast Guard intends to issue the draft solicitation to interested industry parties for review and comment. The draft solicitation should be released in mid February. The package to be issued will seek industry review and comment on the draft solicitation, with special emphasis placed on the specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract type. Please note that a Production Demonstration Model (PDM) is required and that a two-step sealed bid process will be used. Industry comments will be accepted and reviewed through March 7, 1996. Any changes in the specifications resulting from industry comments will be incorporated into the final solicitation. Release of the final solicitation is anticipated for late March or early April 1996. Specifications have been developed by the Coast Guard as part of a uniforms pilot program. Requests for the draft solicitation should be mailed to the address above. All correspondence shall reference the solicitation number DTCG23-96-R-UNISDB and include the responding firm's name, address, contact point, and telephone number. This Notice is for informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
