Scott Palmer, Ph: 202/267-2489 The U.S. Coast Guard is developing a solicitation for the acquisition of Service Dress Blue Coats for men and women. This coat is part of the Service Dress Blue uniform for officers and enlisted personnel. The Coast Guard intends to issue the draft solicitation to interested industry parties for review and comment. The draft solicitation should be released in mid February. The package to be issued will seek industry review and comment on the draft solicitation, with special emphasis placed on the specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract type. Please note that a Production Demonstration Model (PDM) is required and that a two-step sealed bid process will be used. Industry comments will be accepted and reviewed through March 7, 1996. Any changes in the specifications resulting from industry comments will be incorporated into the final solicitation. Release of the final solicitation is anticipated for late March or early April 1996. Specifications have been developed by the Coast Guard as part of a uniforms pilot program.
