A -- MODIFICATION OF THE TARGETING AVIONICS SYSTEM (TAS) POC L. McCullough, ONR 251 (703) 696-2601. The Office of Naval Research intends to negotiate a contract with Loral Aeronutronics for modification of a Navy supplied SUU-63A pylon. The pylon will include a Targeting Avionics System (TAS) hardware which was developed under contract N66001-94-C-0008 and will be capable for operation on a F/A-18 aircraft in a fleet environment. As the designer, developer, and sole proprietor of various portions of TAS, Loral Aeronutronics is the only source that possesses the necessary technical expertise, engineering drawings, and software data to perform the required targeting functions in a pylon configuration.
