Bruning, Contracting Officer, (703) 306-1242. The National Science Foundation (NSF) is soliciting offers from independent public accounting firms for auditing and other ancillary services. The Government Management Reform Act (GMRA) of 1994 requires that, beginning in FY 1996, the NSF Office of Inspector General (OIG) conduct an annual audit of all of the Foundation's financial statements by March 1 of the following year. The OIG anticipates an ongoing need for expert private sector assistance to audit agency accounts and to prepare formal opinions on the financial statements. It is anticipated that one contract award will be made with a base period of performance of approximately seven months with four one-year option periods.
