18 -- SPACE STATION CREW RETURN VEHICLES SOL 9-BE13-18-6-11P DUE 032696 POC Contracting Specialist: Yolande Harden, (713) 483-9953 Contracting Officer: Yolande Harden, (713)483-9953 NASA Johnson Space Center is developing a Space Station Crew Return Vehicle (CRV) utilizing an experimental flight program (X-CRV) development concept. Once the X-project is complete, it is the Government's plan to award a contract in FY 1998 for the production and delivery of operational CRV's in FY 2000. NASA is requessting, from aerospace industry potential contractors, comments in the areas of design, documentation, testing, processes, procedures, etc., that would result in cost and schedule improvements in the production phase of the operational CRV. A two-day conference is scheduled for March 26 - 27, 1996, at NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, Texas to present the current status of the X-CRV program and design for the purpose of collecting industry feedback and comments. Preliminary charts will be available on this Internet site by March 21 via a synopsis modification. Additional feedback sessions will be scheduled approximately every nine months.
