(410) 626-4286 Potential Sources Sought: The U.S. Coast Guard is
seeking qualified sources that can provide General Motors Corporation,
Electro-Motive Division (EMD) Parts. The Contractor must be an
authorized distributor of EMD. The various parts in various quantities
are required for the EMD diesel engines on the 378' WHEC FRAM (Model
8-567-RC) and 180' WLB (Model L8-645-E6) vessels. Delivery to be made
to U.S. Coast Guard Supply Center Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD 21226-1792.
A Requirements contract for one (1) base year and four (4) option years
is anticipated. It is the Government's belief that only General Motors,
Electro-Motive Division and their authorized distributors can provide
the various EMD parts. Offeror must be an authorized General Motors
Corporation, Electro-Motive Division (EMD) distributor. However, other
potential sources having the expertise and required capabilities can
submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 15 days from
the date of this announcement. The following information must be
provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered parts: (1)
Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability
of the offered parts (i.e. salient physical, functional and
serviceability characteristics), or (2) Data that the offered parts
have been satisfactorily manufactured for the Government or the
original equipment manufacturer. No cost or pricing data is required.

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This Notice is for
informational purposes for Minority, Women-Owned, and Disadvantaged
Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT), Office of
Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has a program to
assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short-term working capital assistance for
transportation-related contracts. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
