Carderock Division, (NSWCCD-SSES), Purchase Branch Philadelphia
requests information identifying possible sources for a calcium
carbonate scale removing compound/mixture or a cleaning agent also
capable of removing calcium carbonate scale. The compound/mixture shall
have the ability of removing calcium carbonate scale (hard as well as
soft) when poured down the drain or used in cleaning urinals or water
closets. The compound/mixture shall not be corrosive to materials, made
out of chrome plated zinc, porcelain (such as the china found in
sanitary fixtures like toilets and urinals), and 90-10 copper-nickel
(Cu-Ni). The compound/mixture is preferred in liquid form with no
further mixing or dilution required. Interested sources shall respond
in writing by 29 May 1996 with a general interest statement, background
and a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for the proposed
compound/mixture to: Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division,
