Officer at (212) 668-6441. Provide all labor, material and equipment
necessary for the Dockside Repairs to the USCGC Bittersweet. Work for
these dockside repairs is to be performed at the vessel's homepier. The
work which may be performed includes but may not be limited to the
following minimum items: 1. Clean, Dip, and Bake #1 and #2 S/S
Generators 2. Clean, Dip, and Bake #3 Auxiliary Generator 3. Upgrade
Refrigeration System 4. Inspect, Overhaul, and Test Weight Handling
Equipment 5. Overhaul Warping Winch Assembly 6. Clean, Inspect,
Disinfect and Preserve Potable Water Tanks 7. Provide Temporary
Logistics 8. Modify Galley Gaylord Hood Exhaust Ventilation Ductwork 9.
Modify Galley Gaylord Hood Exhaust Ventilation Duct 10. Preserve Sewage
and Grey Water Collection and Holding Tank(s). The proposed contract
will also contain indefinite items including, but not limited to: 1.
Welding Repairs 2. Ultrasonic Testing 3. Rewind #1 and #2 S/S Generator
and #3 Auxiliary Generator. USCGC Bittersweet's homepier is Woods Hole,
MA. Vessel is 180 Feet in Length. USCGC Bittersweet's Availability
Schedule is 22 July 1996. There will be a non-refundable charge
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the U.S. Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings
and publications. The proposed contract listed here is open to both
large and small businesses. Plans and specifications will be issued on
or after 22 March 1996. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority,

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rate up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
