DESCRIPTION OF WORK--The work includes demolition of existing BEQ facilities and construction of new site utilities, site improvements, and new BEQ housing and community facilities. New BEQs are to be three-story, walk-up, garden style apartments. The buildings consist of five configurations of 12, 22, 24, 34, and 36 unit buildings. Combined with this building mix will be a mix of unit elevations, roof types, and free-standing entrances. The predominant building materials are integral-colored concrete masonary units (CMU) with standing seam metal roofs. The buildings are comprised of one type of apartment or ''unit''. A ''unit'' consists of two sleeping/living rooms with an adjoining closet/bulk storage area, a combined dressing/lavatory/refrigerator area, and a compartmentalized bathroom with shower stall and toilet. Each BEQ unit is provided with a ceiling-mounted water source heat pump (WSHP) unit with individual controls for each sleeping/living room. Clusters of BEQ buildings are located in close proximity to several Small Community Buildings. These serve as centralized locations for laundry, vending, and supplies as well as central locations for domestic cold and hot water which serve the BEQ apartment buildings. Each Small Community Building has an exterior patio with built-in seating and BBQ grilles. A new mechanical plant consisting of gas-fired boilers and cooling towers is to be constructed within the scope of this project.
