59 -- GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (GPS) TIME/DATE DISPLAY UNIT POC Project Leader, Mr. Michael Slama, (703) 428-6821. The U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center (TEC) is conducting a market survey for a Non-Developmental Item (NDI) device for providing accurate Global Positioning System (GPS) time and ate for the Army Corps of Engineers. Industry and Government comments will be accepted until 31 March 1996. The GPS time cube (GPS-TC) shall be a state-of-the-art self contained system capable of displaying and transferring GPS time and date to an accuracy better than .5 seconds. The GPS-TC shall receive signals from the GPS satellites, process the data and display and transfer the GPS time and date. The time shall be displayed in Universal Time (UT) in twenty-four hour format as HH:MM:SS (Hour:Minute:Second). Correction for the Local Time (LT) offset is not required, but would be considered beneficial, if not an additional cost. Transfer of time and date shall be done by standard RS-232 data format, and in UT. The GPS-TC shall operate from a standard 28 Volt DC military electrical system, with a power consumption not to exceed 20 watts. The GPS-TC shall be able to withstand the shock and vibration and other environmental conditions associated with operations in the field. The GPS-TC shall display time through the temperature range of +60C to -46C. The GPS-TC may, but is not required to, be compatible with the Army's crypto loading devices (KYK-12 and KYK-18). If it is compatible with the loading device it shall load and store the cryptokeys for the precise code (P code) acquisition, and must meet all National Security Agency (NSA) and GPS Joint Project Office requirements for P-Code GPS receivers. Comments regarding this market survey can be sent via mail to U.S. Army Topographic Engineering Center, Attn: CETEC-TD-AG (Michael Slama), 7701 Telegraph Road, Alexandria, VA 22315-3864; via facsimile to (703) 428-8176; or via e-mail to mslama@tec.army.mil. Respondents should indicate whether they are a large business, a small business, a socially and economically disadvantaged business, or a women-owned business. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor does it promise that any procurement activity will follow. (060)
