Huggins, Contract Specialist, 208-526-2808; Brad Bauer, Contracting Officer, 208-526-0090 The U.S. Department Of Energy, Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID) is soliciting interest and capabilities for a hydroelectric industry economic benefit assessment. The assessment is intended to be a brief overview and must address, as a minimum, the following: (1) employment, both direct and indirect, associated with the planning, development, and operation of hydroelectric facilities; (2) revenues and expenditures associated with existing facilities and the development of new facilities; and (3) general economic benefits associated with the low cost of electricity generated by hydropower. In the case of multi-purpose dams and facilities, it will be necessary to separate the hydropower benefits/costs from other activities. Demographics and issues, such as other industries that have been developed because of large hydroelectric power sources, should be addressed in this assessment. The anticipated award date is April 5, 1996. This is not a Request for Quotes (RFQ). The request for written quotations will be available on or about March 20, 1996.
