The Naval Research Laboratory intends to award sole source to Hi Shear Technologies to perform life extension testing of twenty NASA Standard Initiators (NSI's). The NSI is an electro-explosive cartidge specifed and procured by NASA. NRL must have this lot extension test performed on NSI's from two separate lots within its inventory. This testing shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-1576 This testing should be performed by an approved manufacturer of NSI's in order for the test results to be comparable with the original manufacturing acceptance test results See Numbered Note(s): 22.
