perform drydock & repairs including but not limited to the following
minimum items: (1) remove, inspect and reinstall propeller shaft (2)
renew water-lubricated shaft bearings (3) remove and reinstall
propeller (4) clean and test grid coolers (5) renew transducer hull
rings and renew the depth indicating transducer (6) overhaul, renew and
test valves (7) remove, inspect and reinstall rudder (8) clean and
inspect diesel fuel tanks (9) remove and dispose of diesel fuel (10)
provide new diesel fuel (11) remove, preserve and reinstall sewage
holding tank (12) clean, inspect and disinfect potable water tanks (13)
renew corrosion preventive zinc anodes (14) temporary logistics (15)
routine drydocking (16) renew shell plating (17) renew fuel fill and
oil sounding tube (18) inspect, overhaul and test weight handling
equipment and crossdeck winch (19) overhaul and inspect chain stopper
(20) preserve bouy deck (21) renew framing and vermiculite coating
system in main hold and forward peak tank (22) renew vermiculite
coating in shaft alley void and preserve bilges. Indefinite items
include but are not limited to the following: (1) welding repairs (2)
stud renewal (3) align main propulsion engine (4) minor repair and
recondition propeller (5) provide additional new diesel fuel (6) renew
shaft sleeves (7) straighten shaft (8) provide temporary messing.
Vessel's homeport for the USCGC Chokeberry is Chrisfield, MD. Vessel
availability schedule is 03 Jun 96 for 35 days. Vessel's length is 65
foot. Vessel is geographically restricted. Specifications will be
issued on or after 15 Mar 1996. All referenced documents are available
for viewing at building 400N, Governors Island, NY. A charge of
$100.00 is required in the form of a Certified check or money order
made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard for requested drawings. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after 15 Mar 96. All responsible
sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by The United States
Coast Guard. For minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and
Disadvantaged Business Utilization has programs to assist minority,
women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire
short-term working capital and bonding assistance for

$500,000 per contract to provide accounts receivable financing. The DOT
Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance
and payment bonds up to $500,000 per contract. DOT provides an 80
