Officer: William Barnes. THIS IS A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT. The Naval
Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division, Annapolis Detachment
intends to procure supplies for conducting preliminary evaluations of
membrane technology for processing bilgewater on board Navy ships with
CeraMem Seraration, Inc., 20 Clematis Ave, Waltham, MA 02154. Oil
removing Polishing Systems and Technologies used for Secondary
Treatment of Bilgewater Processed by Gravity-Based Oil/Water Separator
Systems. The minimum requirements for the membrane module are the
following: Ceramic membrane composition (for inertmess towards
potential foulants), a membrane module packing density of minimum 400
m/2/m3 (for minimal space occupancy of polishing system on board Navy
ships), and a pore size of the membranes less than 500 angstrom (to
achieve 5 mg/L oil concentration in the permeate). Period of
performance will be for one year from the date of contract award. Note
22 applies to the extent that the Government intends to negotiate with
