This instrument being purchased is a Tensiometer Deadweight Calibration System (TDCS) of 1600 pounds capacity. The system will be used as an Air Force Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) reference standard for calibrating aircraft cable tensiometers. The system shall be capable of testing all types of aircraft cable tensionmeters including, but not limited, C-5, C-6, C-7, C-8, and C-9 within the range of 10-1600 pounds-force. Quantity for the basic year is 25 ea with and data as required; FY 97 option for an additional 1 to 25 ea with data as required; FY 98 option for an additional 1 to 33 ea with data as required; FY 99 option for an additional 1 to 50 with data as required. FOB destination. Delivery of first article units will be 120 days after contract award. A Lowest Evaluated Price request for proposal will be issued on or about 20 March 96. A preproposqal conference will be held at Newark AFB. Closing date for the solicitation will be approximately 4 May 96.
