The U.S.Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific proposes to contract for Dry Dock and Repairs of USCGC POLAR STAR (WAGB-10). Performance will commence on 3 Sept 96 and complete on 28 Feb 1997. The major elements of work are as follows: 1) Drydocking, 2) Tailshaft removal and bearing inspection, 3) Overhaul saltwater valves, 4) Tank inspections, 5) U/W Body preservation, 6) Install ship's Service Air Compressor's, 7) Install Bilge Ballast, and Dewatering Sys., 8) Install Lube Oil Purification Systems, 9) Install fuel Oil Purification Sys., 10) Install Incinerator, Sludge Tanks and Trash Compactor. The solicitation will be issued on or about 1 April 1996; the anticipated proposals will be due 1 May 96. This geographically restricted procurement.
