Funds for this project are provided by the Federal Transit Administration. The American Public Transit Association (APTA) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to develop a consensus-based comprehensive set of technical specifications for the standard 35 and 40 foot heavy duty, urban bus based upon both performance and design standards, as appropriate, and to produce guidelines for incorporating optional additions to or deviations from the baseline specification. APTA reserves the right to accept any proposal or reject any and all proposals on such basis as the purchaser, APTA, deems to be in its best interest. All contractors must certify that they are not an ineligible contractor listed on the U.S. Comptroller General's Debarred Bidders list.
