Quotation (RFQ) for Hardware for ISSA Structural Test Article Modal
Testing- -NASA/MSFC intends to purchase from PCB Piezotronics, Inc.
Depew, NY -- the following: Item 1 - 8 Channel Signal Conditioning
Board Model 537001 or equal, with the following salient features --
Electrical (a) -- Provision for transducer (specifically
accelerometers) excitation, signal conditioning, and a unique address
for message routing -- (b)-- Condition input signals from transducers
(specifically accelerometers) by going through a differential input
amplifier, binary gain amplifier, decimal gain amplifier, and filter
--(c)-- Provision for gain steps of 1 through 800 with a tolerance of
+/-1 % --(d)-- Printed circuit board must be capable of being installed
in the type plug-in sockets characteristic of PCB Model 537B Data
Harvester Signal Conditioner -- Quantity 16 ea -- Item 2 - Fixed and
autoranging gain PC Board, PCB Model 537035, or equal with the
following salient features -- Electrical (a)--Provision of overload
detection circuitry for monitoring of positive and negative signal
excursions --(b)-- Provision of automatic selection of the maximum gain
value for each channel to prevent an overload condition -- (c)--Preset
signal thresholds of +/- 5 V which can be sensed by digital logic --
(d)--Printed circuit board must be capable of being installed in the
type plug-in sockets characteristic of PCB Model 537B Data Harvester
Signal Conditioner -- Quantity 16 ea -- Item 3 - Low pass filter PC

continuous analog filters and one seventh-order switched-capacitor
filter that can interface with a digital clock signal input to control

is to have 88dB per octave rolloff, +/- 5% tolerance of cutoff

under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold (SAT) portion of the Federal
Acquisition Streamlining Act (FASA)-- Note: This procurement is
sole-source based on system compatability requirements and predominant
experience -- Interested firms have 15 days from the publication date
of this synopsis to submit in writing their
qualifications/capabilities in the critical areas mentioned above --
Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of
determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive
basis -- Responses received after the 15 days or without the required
information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will
not be considered -- A determination by the Government not to compete
this proposed contract, on a full and open competitive basis, based
upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the
