The instrument being purchased is a Gage Block Flatness Interferometer(GBFI). The GBFI will be used in the Air Force Metrology Precision Laboratories(PMEL) to measure flatness of gage blocks, both metric and english and to check for burrs on the block's surface. The requirement is for a Davidson Optronics model D-327-101 or equivalent. Quantity for the basic year is 10 ea with warranty and data as required; FY 97 option for an additional 1 to 10 ea with warranty and data as required; FY 98 option for an additional 1 to 10 ea with warranty and data as required. FOB destination. Delivery of first article unit will be 180 days after contract award. A request for proposal will be issued on or about 22 Mar 96.
