Muchemore, Contract Specialist 619-725-1937. The Government intends to
procure the following under Simplified Acquisition Procedures: the
Contractor is required to collect and shred scrap tires into 12 inch or
smaller nominal tire shred, or collect and cut side walls out as to
comply with current California Wast Tire Management Practices. Rubber
scrap consists of tires, fuel bladders, camouflage netting,
demilitarized gas masks, hoods, and footwear. Shredded tires may be
recycled. Tires with sidewalls cut can be land filled. The Contractor
will comply with all requirements as directed by the California
Integrated Waste Management Board in the loading, disposal and properly
shipping waste tires. This is to include but not limited to shipping,
transportation, labor, loading, disposal of scrap tires. In addition
the Contractor will need to provide as required by the California
Integrated Waste Management Board a completed Waste Tire Hauler
Manifest at the time of shipment. Certificate of recycling or disposal
are required. Tires include but are not limited to oversized heavy
terrain tires to passenger tires of various sizes. The Contractor will
have thirty (30) calendar days to complete the removal and disposal of
scrap tires from the Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office, Bldg
2241, scrap yard area, Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Ca. Estimated
total weight is 850,000 pounds. Request for quotation will be available
21 March 1996. This is a Small Business Small Purchase Set Aside, the
anticipated award date is on or about 21 April 1996. All responsible
sources may submit a quotation, if received in a timely manner, shall
be considered by the agency. You may request a copy of the RFQ by FAX.
