B -- CULTURAL RESOURCES SHORELINE RECONNAISSANCE ALONG MONOGAHELA RIVER AND YOUGHIOGHENY RIVER AND TRIBUTARIES SOL DACW59-96-R-0011 DUE 042996 POC Cynthia J. The Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District has a requirement for archaeological services consisting of Phase I cultural resources reconnaissance involving a literature search and fieldwork along the Monongahela River in Pool 2, from river mile 11.2 to river mile 23.8, the Youghiogheny River from river mile 0.0 to river mile 10.5, and their affected tributaries. The literature search shall include an examination of the Pennsylvania Archaeological Site Survey files as well as background information on the prehistoric and historic environmental and land use history of the area and must PRECEDE fieldwork. The fieldwork shall include both pedestrian survey and subsurface shovel testing. The contractor will be required to prepare a management summary, and separate draft and final reports on the results of the reconnaissance. The contractor shall have 30 calendar days for pre-field research upon receipt of Notice to Proceed, followed by 150 calendar days to complete fieldwork and the draft report. The final report shall be required within 30 calendar days following receipt of all District review comments. Written requests for Solicitation DACW59-96-R-0011 are required to be forwarded to the Contract Specialist. Release of the solicitation is anticipated for March 28, 1996.
