The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL), Survivability/Lethality Analysis Directorate (SLAD), Electronic Warfare Division (EDW) intends to solicit contractors for shop fabrication services and materials providing ARL with the special purpose, non-standard mechanical and electrical hardware and equipment necessary for the analysis and field evaluation of weapon systems. Design, development, fabrication, installation, testing, repair, and modification of equipment along with software/firmware development and on-site support are within the scope of this effort. Task requirements may be in the form of written performance specification, preliminary design sketches, or a combination of both these forms. The contractor shal supply services, materials and facilities as needed. The contractor shall be required to maintain a facility within a 100 mile radius of the Headquarter's Area, White Sands Missile Range, NM. Services are to be performed at the contractor's facility, on-site, and at various sites throughout the United States. The proposed contract will be a Historically Black College and University and Minority Institution (HBCU/MI) set aside, cost reimbursement, no fee type contract. The period of performance is for a five-year basic contract. The standard industrial classification (SIC) code for this requirement is 8711. Those HBCU/MI firms that responded to the Sources Sought Synopsis need not respond again.
