Solicitation is anticipated for a proposal to purchase Rear Cargo Doors for 40 each, A/MH-6M Helicopters (militarized variant of the commercial McDonnell Douglas 530FF). The current 530FF cargo door opening is being enlarged as part of an on-going enhancement effort. A redesigned cargo door system to fit the enlarged opening is being sought. Performance requirements desired include: (1) The overall increase in the aircraft empty weight shall not exceed 20 pounds, and (2) The door shall be capable of being opened in flight at speeds up to 60 knots indicated airspeed (KIAS), be secured in the open position and withstand airspeeds up to 100 KIAS. Interested sources should respond by 15 Apr 96 with a brief summary of manufacturing capability to include a short history of products delivered and an illustrated concept regarding a door design.
