DAAJ02-96-R-0002 DUE 052496 POC Marie J. Laubach, Contract Specialist,
(804) 878-4825/John H. Barbie, Contracting Officer, (804) 878-2900.
The Aviation Applied Technology Directorate (AATD) intends to negotiate
noncompetitively with McDonnell Douglas Helicopter Systems, Mesa, AZ.
The objective of this program is to update the design, system hardware,
and test a fluidic flight control system that can be used as a backup
control system (BUCS) for future fly-by-wire or fly-by-light digital
automatic flight control systems. This work was begun under the
Integrated Pump Actuator Program (IPAP) contract, which was terminated
in 1993 due to lack of funds, at the 80% completion level. MDHS is
uniquely qualified to fulfill the contract's requirements based on the
knowledge obtained from designing the IPAP system under the previous
contract. This program will complete the unfinished work to make the
system compatible with an AH-64 helicopter with an installed
fly-by-wire system. Anticipated contract period is 13 months. Request
for this solicitation must be submitted in writing to the above
address. See Numbered Note(s): 22. (0068) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0007 19960311\A-0007.SOL)
