The Health Care Financing Administration (HCFA) has a requirement for a contractor to establish a Research Data Assistance Center (ResDAC) to facilitate and expedite the use of HCFA data for research on Medicare and Medicaid. In order to accomplish this purpose, ResDAC will: a)Serve as a focal point for researchers who are interested in pursuing studies on Medicare and Medicaid programs but lack the knowledge and expertise on accessing HCFA databases, b)Serve as an educational and training center for researchers who have a need to use HCFA data, c)Staff a team of Medicare and Medicaid experts who are knowledgeable and experienced in both HCFA's data sets and program history to assist researchers in accessing and understanding HCFA data, d)Continuously maintain expertise on HCFA data sets content for Medicare and Medicaid program research and, e)Take action to improve researcher access to HCFA data. Proposed period of performance is twelve months from date of contract award, with four one-year option periods.
