available the day after scheduled bid opening. The work includes the
construction of a three-story dormitory building of approximately
38,340 square feet. The building consists of load- bearing masonry
walls with exterior insulation finish system. The roof system consists
of light gauge metal framing and structural standing seam metal roof.
Other building components consist of hollow metal frames, aluminum
windows, wood and metal doors, ceramic tile, carpeted and resilient
flooring, fire protection sprinkler system and mechanical and
electrical systems. Supporting facilities include all utilities,
including water distribution lines, gas distribution lines, sanitary
sewer lines, storm drainage lines, sidewalks, parking, landscape and
incidental related work to provide a complete and usable facility. Base
bid shall be the entire work complete in accordance with drawings and
specifications, but not including work indicated or specified to be
provided under any other bid item. Work shall include: demolition of
existing parking lot; construction of New Dormitory Building with
related site work and utilities to provide a complete and usable
facility; demolitiion of Building 444. Basis of bid for Bid Option No.
1: shall be the addition of the following, complete in accordance with
requirements specified hereinafter: All work associated with the
demolition of Building 445 and 446. Basis of bid for Bid Option No. 2:
shall be the addition of the following, complete in accordance with
requirements specified hereinafter: All work associated with the
demolition of existing parking, construction of new parking log,
construction of sidewalks and patios, and all work associated with the
infill of the small drainage ditch. Basis of bid for Bid Option No. 3:
shall be the addition of the following, complete in accordance with
requirements specified hereinafter: All work associated with the infill
of the large drainage ditches. Basis of bid for Bid Option No. 4: shall
be the addition of the following, complete in accordance with
requirements specified hereinafter: All work associated with
construction of new parking lot adjacent to Simpson Street; curb and
gutter on Simpson Street. Estimated cost is $5,000,000.00 -
$10,000,000.00. Estimated duration of the contract is 420 calendar days
