689-8375 TOGA Sized Meteorological and Oceanographic Drifting Buoys, a
large size aircraft launched expendable drifting buoy system that is
capable of surviving for long periods of time in areas of high
environmental variability typical of those found in northern latitudes.
The buoys shall be similar in size to those used in the Tropical Ocean
and Global Atmosphere (TOGA) program. The buoys will provide
meteorological and oceanographic measurements (barometric pressure, air
temperature and sea temperature) to support Navy operational forecast
functions. The subsequent Indefinite Delivery/ Requirements Contract
will be for an estimated quantity of 20 units to be acquired from date
of award through 30 Sep 97. Delivery to be made to Naval Oceanographic
Office, Stennis Space Center, MS. Solicitation to issue on or about 25
Mar 96 with a closing 45 days thereafter. Delivery 60 - 120 days after
