Air Warrior (AW) is a Research and Development program for providing a mission-tailorable System that standardizes and integrates aviation life support equipment for Army, Navy, and Marine Corps aircrew personnel during flight and ground operations. AW concentrates on mission equipment and protective clothing, and equipment that are primarily aircrew-mounted. Some portions of the system will interface with aircraft-mounted equipment and will require integration throughout a common interface and designed-in compatibility. A draft solicitation will be released on or about 29 Mar 96. The draft solicitation will be available via the Bulletin Board Service (BBS) of the Program Executive Office, Aviation (PEO-AVN). Instructions for accessing the PEO-AVN BBS can be obtained by contacting the Contracting Officer/Specialist. Additionally, upon request, the solicitation will be made available on 3 1/2 inch diskette in Microsoft Word format. Solicitations will not be issued in hardcopy, paper format. A pre-solicitation conference will be held ten days after the release of the draft solicitation to entertain questions and suggestions, and to provide additional information. Contractors can submit written questions and comments to the Contracting Officer not later than thirty days after the pre-solicitation conference. Contractors interested in attending the pre-solicitation conference can, upon receipt of the solicitation, call the Contracting Officer/Specialist for the location, date and time. Attendance to the conference will be limited to three representatives per contractor. (0071)
