CONS/LGCXS (NO SOLICITATION AVAILABLE). The United States Strategic
Command (USSTRATCOM) will host an Industry Day on 4 Apr 96, to discuss
the acquisition to definitize requirements, propose solutions, and
support an integrated computing environment. Contract objectives are:
(1) Provide a common operating environment for USSTRATCOM's War
Planning, Command and Control, and Office Automation missions; (2)
Sustain operations and maintenance of the existing systems; (3)
Modernize the computing environment. (4) Meet performance requirements
of components and software applications; (5) Optimize resources
through common solutions and manpower mix; and (6) Meet program
constraints in the areas of affordability, security, schedules,
operational concepts, enterprise data base, and applications
commitments. The anticipated size of the acquisition is in excess of
$150 million. An indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity type of
contract is anticipated with a period of performance from 01 Apr 97
through 30 Sep 04. USSTRATCOM anticipates using an innovative
streamlined approach with a rapid assessment of the qualifications and
capabilities of interested sources, to identify highly qualified firms
to continue in the streamlines acquisition process. Participates are
expected to provide comments on candidate acquisition strategies for
the computing environment effort. Additionally, feedback will be sought
on better ways to incentivize and structure future USSTRATCOM contracts
to minimize administrative workloads. Interested personnel responding
