The work will include the following: (Approx. quantities) Remove 2 heat pumps and 4 circulating pumps and replace with 2 - 180 ton Rotary screw heat pumps using R-22, 2 - 350 gpm circulating pumps, 6 - Thermostatically controlled butterfly valves, Insulate existing 10-inch raw water header piping, HVAC System No. 1: replace heating/cooling coil, replace pneumatic controls with electronic, HVAC System No. 2: replace heating/cooling coil, replace pneumatic controls with electronic, replace controls for electric duct heaters, steam clean duct work and balance air flows, HVAC System No. 3: replace heating/cooling coil, replace pneumatic controls with electronic, HVAC System No. 4: remove and replace ductwork and diffusers in Switchgear Gallery, balance system air flows, and replace pneumatic controls with electronic, HVAC Piping: replacement of steel piping in the Heat Pump room with new fiberglass and steel piping, Replace Gate valves with butterfly valves (2 inch - 8 inch, mostly electric motor type), Replace Water Strainers with hand operated rotary filters piped to the floor. The estimated construction cost of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Contractor's Quality Control will be a requirement in this contract. The Contractor will be required to commence work within 10 days after notice to proceed and complete the work 360 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Provisions will be included for liquidated damages in case of failure to complete the work in the time allowed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Bid sets will be available on/a March 29, 1996. Half-size plans and specifications will be furnished upon request. All requests for solicitation packages should be made in writing no later than 14 days prior to bid opening. After such time, packages will be furnished if supply is available. It has been determined that the number of sets be limited to 1 (one) per firm (additional copies will be the responsibility of the requestor).
