The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Federal Medical Center, Carswell, located at Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base, Carswell Field, Texas, plans to issue a solicitation on or about April 1, 1996, for work including, but not limited to site demolition, utility demolition and upgrade, hazardous materials removal work, site improvements work which includes permanent and access road development, construction of a water line, and parking area relocations. Entry/Administration buildings, inmate housing unit, inmate visiting area, facility maintenance buildings, Federal Prison Industries factory, perimeter fence sally ports, activity fields, perimeter fencing systems and a central utility plant upgrade will be included in this project, as well as selective renovation and expansion of the existing medical/surgical hospital dining room. The additions and renovations will include security electronics and detention equipment. This project also includes upgrades to existing buildings, new construction required for the Federal Prison Camp, new inmate services building which will house a food service/dining facility and multi-use space garage/landscape building and warehouse. The successful bidder will be required to furnish all labor, equipment, and materials to complete the project. The construction cost is estimated to be more than $10,000,000.00.
