development services for National Register of Historic Places
Eligibility Assessment of Ten Prehistoric Archaeological Sites at Fort
Riley, Kansas. The successful contractor shall be responsible for: (1)
development of a research design discussing explicit plan for
performing test excavations of sites, (2) investigation and testing of
ten prehistoric sites which requires preparation of site grids,
mapping, field records, test unit excavation, shovel, post hole, and
auger tests, special samples for C14 dating, artifact preparation for
long term curation, and (3) preparation of a written report. The
successful offeror shall be considered to be carrying out official
agency duties under the Federal land manager's direction associated
with management of archeological resources. No permit is issued under
the Archeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA). However, the
successful contractor shall meet all requirements necessary to carry
out archeological investigations under ARPA guidelines and guidelines
of the Kansas Historic Preservation Officer. Award of a fixed price
contract is contemplated with the field work to be performed during
calendar year 1996 field season. Request for Proposal (RFP)
DACA88-96-R-0013 will be issued on or about 4 April 1996 with a closing
date of 21 May 1996. Requests for this solicitation shall be made in
