circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.36. 1.

pacifiers. 5. Title and number of pages of the notified document: Draft
Royal Order on the Marketing of Teats and Pacifiers for Babies and
Infants. 6. Description of content: The Draft establishes a ceiling for
the migration of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole and its sodium salt; it
requires adequate information for users in labelling and communication
of the composition of the said products to the administration. 7.
Objective and rationale: 2-mercaptobenzothiazole is a substance used in
manufacturing rubber teats, which is suspected of being carcinogenic.
The scientific authorities consulted, including the EU Scientific
Committee on Food, consider that the migration of this substance should
not exceed a maximum of 0.05 mg/kg. The purpose of the measure is to
protect the health of babies and infants. 8. Relevant documents: N/A.
