Nancy Davis, (310) 725-7564 The Contractor shall provide all labor,
materials, equipment, transportation, and services (except government
furnished materials) necessary to upgrade the Instrument Landing System
(ILS) and the installation of a Category III ILS currently servicing
Runways (R/W) 07L/25R, Los Angeles Airport, Los Angeles, California.
The scope of work is to (1) demolish/remove the existing ILS equipment
- Glide Slope, Localizer, Inner Marker, and Outer Marker; (2)
Surveying to establish location of the new Localizer antenna array; (3)
Enlarging existing wooden platform; and (4) to install the new GFM
Antenna Arrays at the sites mentioned. The work involves concrete work,
carpentry work, electrical work, grounding work, trenching, cabling,
backfilling, surveying, and the assembly and installation of the GFM
equipment. All site work shall be performed in strict accordance with
Federal Aviation Administration plans and specifications. The
performance period is ninety (90) calendar days after receipt of the
notice to proceed. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for this
procurement is 1799. The cost range is from $100,000.00 to $250,000.00.
Invitation for Bid (IFB) DTFA08-96-B-02927 will be available on or
about April 23, 1996 with a bid opening approximately 30 days
thereafter. Offerors must submit a written request for the IFB by
letter or FAX (310) 297-0056, Attn: Nancy Davis. TELEPHONE REQUESTS
WILL NOT BE HONORED. This is an UNRESTRICTED procurement in accordance
with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program Title VII of
the Business Opportunity Development Reform Act of 1988 (P.L. 100-656).
This notice BELOW is for informational purposes for Minority,
Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of
Transportation (DOT), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontract at any tier.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
payment, and performance bonds up to 1.0 million per contract. The DOT
provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending
Programs (STLP), at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable
financing. The maximun line of credit is $500,000. For further
