System shall provide a temperature working range from -100 to 600 degrees F; total load capacity shall be 50,000 lbs; shall provide interchangeable faces for all common sizes; the clamping force shall not alter (change) the vertical position of the faces and shall not induce any stresses on the test specimen; the clamping force shall not alter (change) the initial gage length allowing a pre-selected point about which the specimen will be held; and shall not produce any recoil at the time of specimen rupture and if an extensometer is attached, it shall remain in place. This solicitation will be issued approx 96 Apr 05. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. No tel requests.
