United States Postal Service, Operations Group, is interested in
identifying potential vendors with significant experience to develop a
computer model for a very large and diversified fleet of vehicles.
This model should be capable of assessing and predicting vehicle
performance; evaluating the viability and comparative value of repair
or replacement options, and identifying optimum acquisition strategies.
The software has to be operable in a Microsoft Windows environment.
Interested vendors who have successfully demonstrated their capability
to develop a software application that will evaluate a very large,
diverse vehicle fleet, are invited to review the ''draft'' statement of
work for this acquisition. Submit any comment(s) you may have regarding
the SOW to the attention of Hardit Ahuja, via E-Mail at
hahuja@email.usps.gov. The Statement of Work will be available on the
Internet at www.uspsgov. All comments must be received not later than
March 29, 1996. To be included in any acquisition which may result from
this RFC, all qualified parties must submit a concise corporate
capability statement (3 pages or less) which adequately demonstrates
their success in development and marketing such a model. The subsequent
acquisition which may result from this RFC will not be publicized at a
later date. Further note, the USPS does not intend to pay for any
