Broadcast Service Industry Day PURPOSE: The MILSATCOM Joint Program
Office announces the Global Broadcast Service (GBS) Industry Day. The
meeting, scheduled for 29 March 96, will be held at Aerospace
Corporation, El Segundo, CA. The primary purpose of the meeting is to
give the Global Broadcast Service Joint Program the opportunity to
present to Industry a high-level vision of the Global Broadcast
Service, how that vision fits into existing communication systems, and
the structure that will oversee the implementation of GBS. Presenters
from the Terminal and Information Management portions of the Global
Broadcast Service Joint Program will brief Industry on planned phase-in
of functional components of the GBS system. Selected programmatic
issues of schedule and performance will be discussed. Copies of
documents critical to GBS (Mission Needs Statement, Concept of
Operations, draft Joint Operational Requirements Document, etc.) will
be available. Follow up meetings will be held to allow Industry to
present possible implementations of the GBS architecture. Additional
information about GBS as well as a meeting agenda will be available on
the GBS World Wide Web Homepage (www.laafb.af.mil/MC). ADMINISTRATION:
The GBS Industry Day will be held at Aerospace Corporation, 2350 E. El
Segundo Blvd., El Segundo, CA, Building A-8, 9:00 AM-4:00 PM.
Attendees should arrive 30 minutes early to facilitate badging.
Classification for the meeting will be SECRET. Seating will be limited
to 3 persons per company. Seating requests for more than 3 per company
may be made on or after 25 March 96 from Lt Broyles. Clearances and
Request-to-Visit (RTV) forms should be sent to: Aerospace Corporation,

(including those with clearances already on file with Aerospace) should
