Modernization of the Federal Building/Post Office/ Courthouse, Bismarck, North Dakota. Project scope: Construction services for general buildings systems upgrade including HVAC, electrical, passenger and freight elevators and replacement of the cooling tower; installation of new secured elevator; providing new concrete parking area and site drainage; removal of west dock and construction of new north dock; providing new courtroom and ancillary spaces and probation suites on the first floor; remodeling existing U.S. Postal Service area. Options/ alternates will be included for the following work: (1) Post Office; (2) 4th floor - U.S. Courts; and (3) Emergency Generator. Work is to be done in phases. Construction duration will be 14 months. All work will be done in metric. A pre-bid conference will be held approximately two weeks after the solicitation has been issued. This acquisition is open to both small and large prime contractors and is not restricted. Contractors must be able to secure bonding capacity of $5-$10 million. Prime contractors must be able to perform at least 12% of the construction work. Estimated cost range of project is between $5 million and $10 million. PIN will be issued o/a 3/15/96. Response is due 4/15/96. IFB will be issued o/a 5/15/96. Bid opening date will be o/a 6/18/96. Notice to proceed is anticipated o/a 8/6/96. A nonrefundable charge of $125 will be required for each set of the plans and specifications.
