70 -- HANDHELD TERMINAL UNITS SOL N00164-96-R-0054 DUE 050896 POC Contact point, Ms. Carolyn Carmichael, Contracting Officer, Code 1164ET, 812-854-3907, FAX 812-854-3465 The Navy requires thirty each Handheld Imagery Communications Terminal (HICT) which shall be manufactured in accordance with NAVSURFWARCENDIV performance specifications. The HICT shall provide image storage, processing and routing and the input and output interfaces needed for operation of the digital cameras such as the Kodak DCS 420. The HICT shall provide the control and the input and output interfaces needed to transmit and receive images over the communications equipment. The HICT shall interface/operate with tactical radios, local area networks (LAN), command and control networks, switchboards, and radio remote units. The HICT shall be powered by an internal self- contained source and have an optional external self-contained battery power source. The HICT shall have undervoltage, overvoltage, and reverse voltage protection. The HICT shall have a display with individually addressable picture elements (pixels). The active display area shall have a rectangular window of a length of 6.00 inches and a width of 4.50 inches plus or minus 10%. The display shall be capable of displaying at least 256 colors simultaneously at the 640 x 480 resolution. The weight of the HICT including the internal power source and field case (if any) shall be not greater than 3 pounds.
