D. Clark, Contracting Officer. The National Park Service seeks
technical assistance for the operation and maintenance of the NPS
gaseous pollutant monitoring program and its possible enhancement plus
the operation of the data validation center. Tasks include general
network program supervision; semi-annual calibration and maintenance
trips; first-line troubleshooting via an ``800'' number; site selection
and installation; maintenance and spare parts inventory; instrument
acceptance testing, modification and repair; training; assistance in
standard operating procedures development; polling of data; database
operation; validation and reporting of data. The network consists of 34
automated stations in 26 units of the National Park System where ozone
and meteorological parameters are measured (2 stations have SO2
analyzers also), 14 sites for passive ozone measurements, and 3
enhanced monitoring sites measuring low-concentration levels of 03, CO,
NOx/NOy, SO2, and VOC. The RFP will be issued approximately April 2,
1996. This acquisition is solicited under full and open competition.
